How to Import Videos from a YouTube Channel or Playlist to Truvid

Introduction

For publishers and content owners, Truvid's feature to import videos from YouTube simplifies the process of syndicating content. This guide explains how to seamlessly import videos from YouTube to Truvid's content library, ensuring your content is continuously updated and easily accessible.

Steps to Import Videos from YouTube

  1. Navigate to the Content Tab: Start by clicking on the "My Feed" tab located in the navigation panel on the left side of the Truvid interface.

  2. Access Imports: Within the dropdown options under "My Feed," select "Imports" to view and manage your videos.This action will display all the Imports you currently have..

  3. Create New Import: On the top right side, click on 'New Import'.  This will open a new window to create the import and configure settings for the new import. 

  4. Select Import Type: Choose the type of import you want to create. Options include 'YouTube Channel' or 'YouTube Playlist'.

  1. Enter YouTube Channel/Playlist ID: If importing from a YouTube channel or playlist, enter the YouTube Channel/Playlist ID in the designated field. See here on how to find your YouTube Channel ID. 

  2. Select Categories: Choose the appropriate categories for the videos you are importing by typing in the 'Categories' field.

  3. Enter Import Name: Provide a name for the import in the 'Import Name' field.

  4. Set Language: Choose the video content's primary language, aiding in audience targeting and searchability.

  5. Select Import Folder: Choose or create a folder where the imported videos will be stored.

  6. Choose Pricing Model: Select either 'RevShare' or 'Free' for the pricing model of the videos.

  7. Set Video Access: Choose 'Public' or 'Private' for video access settings.

  8. Complete Import: After configuring all settings, click 'Import' to create the import.

Managing Content Preferences

  • Manual Deletion: If a video from your YouTube Channel or YouTube Playlist should not be on Truvid, it can be manually removed from the Truvid platform.

  • Syndication of Older Videos: Truvid syndicates content from the date of joining. For videos uploaded to YouTube before joining Truvid, manual uploading to Truvid may be necessary.
