Introduction
At times, publishers need to delete packages from their library. This could be due to various reasons like changes in content strategy, the need to update or refresh the content library, or simply because the content is no longer relevant.
Steps to Delete a Package
-
Navigate to the Content Menu Item: Start by clicking on the "Content" menu item located in the navigation panel on the left side of the Truvid interface.
-
Access Packages: Within the dropdown options under "Content," select "Offered Packages" to view and manage your packages. This section contains all the packages offered to you, including those that have been approved or not yet accepted.
-
Select a Package: Browse through the list of offered packages to find the one you would like to delete.
-
Click on the Decline Icon: In the same row as the package you want to decline, on the right side, you will see the decline icon (a X). Click on the decline icon.
-
Confirm Declining: You will be prompted to type in 'delete' to confirm your action. Do so to finalize the process.
Caution When Deleting a Package
-
When a package is declined, it directly affects its associated playlist. If the playlist connected to the deleted package is still in use, ensure you have alternative content ready. Assign new, relevant content to the playlist either before removing the package or immediately afterward.
Conclusion
Truvid advises against declining a package as it may disrupt seamless content streaming and affect multiple playlists. It is crucial to give careful consideration before proceeding with deletion.
